Wednesday Wishlist #2: Our Favourite Products This Week
If you're like us, a spot of virtual window shopping can be a welcome break from the constant grind. Consequently, our wishlist tends to run quite long, so here are some favourites as of late.
With the backdrop of COP30 this week, it feels counterintuitive to post a wishlist that drives vapid consumerism. At the same time, sustainability doesn’t have to be mind-numbing or greenwashed – it can be about choosing pieces that’ll last you a lifetime or have sustainable production in mind.
In a world filled with fast fashion brands trying to change perceptions with avant-garde placements, and ChatGPT using 10x more energy than a Google search, the recommendations this week are selects that’ll actually stay with you for a while.
Rag & Bone Classic Flame Henley
We were recently reminded this was one of the star pieces from Bond’s No Time To Die wardrobe (still not over the DC era), and, in general, henleys are going to be your best friend for a more styled-up long-sleeve layering piece. It’s no surprise they’ve had a resurgence this year.
The fact that it can survive on the back of a world-class secret agent, combined with the longevity of being around since the 19th century, means you’ll certainly get your wear out of them, especially when they’re from one of our faves, Rag & Bone.
Barbour Re-Engineered Utility Bedale Waxed Jacket
Our one (and only one, in all honesty) gripe with Barbour’s catalogue is that the jacket cuts have largely been a tad ‘old school’ for some modern consumers – turning them off what is otherwise a legacy brand still churning out some of the best outerwear in the business. However, right on time to catch the mainstream revival of the wax jacket, the British brand has done a stellar job of releasing some contemporary cuts – this ‘Re-Engineered’ version being a fantastic example.
With more pockets than you’d ever need, it features a recycled polyester lining and comes with that classic waxed cotton outer layer – keeping you waterproof without the need for some (potentially toxic) Gore-Tex. Once a year, simply rewax it yourself, or take it to your nearest Barbour store and they’ll do it for you. There’s a reason your grandpa’s had the same one since 1970.
Creed Oud Zarian
When it comes to smelling good, Creed is always in the conversation. Seeing the bottle in the bathroom always just puts a smile on our faces, even if it’s been given a bit of a rinse in lad culture as of recent. What impresses – beyond the product quality – is their commitment to a super transparent supply chain, including, among other promises, one tree planted for every purchase made.
Considering the quality of the ingredients used and the fact that oud is often highly unsustainable to source, this Zarian option gives you the rarity without the guilt – bottled up as the perfect, sultry winter scent.
Our Legacy Mount Straight-Leg Hemp-Blend Cargos
Cargos get absolutely overdone in the fast fashion world, but there’s still a place for them in certain scenarios. Paired with a nice pair of sneakers or actually being used in the scenarios they’re designed for, the extra pockets are a welcome inclusion.
Our Legacy are known for shifting the needle on typical, and they’ve done it well with this hemp-blend option. Hemp is known to be much more sustainable when compared to standard cotton, often taking far less water to grow. These hold up as a nice streetwear alternative to the familiar pleated chino – consider cracking them out for those casual (or Alpine) occasions.
Lifestraw Go Stainless Steel Bottle
With the downright abysmal standard that tap water has dropped to, having a refillable steel bottle that doubles as a filter is a smart move – saving you from endless Saratoga bottles, or whatever trendiest water is this week.
Originally focused on camping and off-grid applications, Lifestraw has made a pivot into lifestyle and travel products. These new stainless steels include their built-in filtering technology, giving you pure hydration every time – chlorine, fluoride, and who knows what else, not included. It’s also a nice breakaway from the endless sea of Yetis and Stanleys, plus they have a strong history of supporting water charities worldwide.
Zegna Triple Stitch Wool Sneakers
A new-age Mayfair staple, these Triple Stitch Zegnas have quickly become the most versatile sneaker option for the Urban upper crust. With a suit, they look good, with jeans, they look good, with anything, really, they just look good. But, while we’ve seen them in leather and suede before, these wool ones caught our eye.
Firstly, they’ll keep those toes warm in the depths of winter – without having to resort to thick socks. Secondly, after watching Woolmark’s recent bio-degrading video, you can truly understand the sustainable side of buying wool head to toe. Just another reason to make the effort and double check (or should we say, Triple, in this case!) the fabric contents of your prospective purchases, this winter.
Todd Snyder Recycled Cashmere Scarf
Who doesn’t love the touch of cashmere? Somehow, the masters at Todd Snyder have figured out how to recycle and repurpose it into a nice selection of scarves to get you through the winter.
The ribbed knit also gives it a nice texture – an easy layering piece to pair with any of the overcoats, vests, or other tasteful garments that make up your winter wardrobe. A nice scarf will go a long way; pick one up before it’s too late. Your future self will thank you.

Love this perspective, especially the insight about ChatGPT's energy consumption. Makes you really wonder what the long term environmental footprint of AI development will look like doesn't it?
