Wednesday Wishlist #4: Our Favourite Products This Week
If you're like us, a spot of virtual window shopping can be a welcome break from the constant grind. Consequently, our wishlist tends to run quite long, so here are some favourites as of late.
Two major sporting moments are going down next year: the Winter Olympics in Milano (which has only crept on to our radar thanks to Ralph Lauren’s excellent Team USA gear), and the World Cup, set to be held across North America come June. The latter’s draw and schedule were just announced on Friday, and it’s definitely giving us a little bit of football fever.
Now, let’s get something straight: we’re not going to hold it against you if you call it soccer. It’s okay to be uncultured occasionally – even we make the mistake sometimes. But to make sure you are, at least, getting into the sporting spirit, we’ve compiled a handful of selections to inspire you on and off the pitch.
Prada Predator Accuracy Football Boot
We’re big fans of how Prada can put the luxury into technical, especially with shoes like the American Cups. So if the World Cup is going to unlock your inner striker, you may as well go all in. This Prada × Adidas collab reimagines an already legendary boot with couture-level craftsmanship.
The lines are sharper, the leather is sleeker, and it becomes a cultural artifact for the fashion-football crossover era we’re living in.
African Botanics Muscle Pain Relief Gel
No matter how committed you are to “getting back on the pitch next year,” your body is firmly aware you’re not 18 anymore.
This pain relief gel, built from natural botanicals rather than mystery-lab menthol, delivers recovery minus the synthetic sting – think of it as your post-five-a-side miracle worker.
Lululemon 3 in 1 Gym Duffle Bag
In a sea of duffles that either look overly tactical or like you’re running away from home, this one hits the sweet spot.
With separate, functional compartments for shoes and sweaty gear, and a commuter-friendly design, this selection from Lululemon is the perfect way to store your football kit for an impromptu five-a-side match after work.
Nike Total 90s
Total 90s conjure memories of rising before dawn to catch grainy Champions League matches – now they can be your daily driver sneaker.
Re-engineered with modern cushioning but still carrying that unmistakable, bold, circular target motif, they’re a nostalgia play that beats out the other, hyped indoor football sneakers.
Adidas Consortium Shorts
Representing their more experimental range, Consortium pieces always feel like Adidas at its most refined, and these shorts bring a level of tailoring that most sportswear doesn’t bother with.
Perfect for training, travel days, or pretending you’ve just finished a light recovery session (we won’t tell anyone you were actually just walking the dog).
Commes Des Garçons Football Scarf
Supporting a team is a personality trait, and scarves have always been the most theatrical way to broadcast allegiance.
This CDG version takes the humble terrace accessory and turns it avant-garde. Graphic and slightly chaotic, it’s a piece you can wear even if your only knowledge of football is which players have the best haircuts. Consider it your entry-level ticket into fashion hooliganism.
Drake’s Striped Cotton-Jersey Polo Shirt
If polyester-laden kits are for match day, this is for everything surrounding it – the pubs, the after-work screenings, the smug post-game victory strolls. Drake’s takes the classic polo and elevates it with an old-school football jersey look.
Now, we don’t want to hear anything about the so-called rugby shirt – this is a tribute to the football jerseys of old with some bold stripes to match.
